Mindfulness in the workplace

MINDFULNESS IN THE WORKPLACE

“The best way to take care of the future is to take care of the present moment”.

– Thich Nhat Hanh

ARE YOU MINDFUL OR MIND-FULL?

There are many disruptions and distractions in our modern workplace. The frantic pace of change, more innovation, accelerating digitisation, increased challenges and opportunities – it’s all happening. The crucial skills and capabilities required, are the ability to continually evolve your mindset and develop new habits – all while staying deeply connected to ourselves and each other. Yet working environments are often not set up to allow us to develop these skills. Instead, there is increased pressure, stress, information overload and less care and connection.

At MiND.U we believe mindfulness is one of the most potent practices – a superpower for the modern-day workplace, helping you build the required critical skills and manage common stressors…and the research agrees.

SO WHAT IS MINDFULNESS – AND HOW CAN WE USE IT IN THE WORKPLACE?

Mindfulness is about establishing a heightened sense of awareness: self-awareness, relational awareness and environmental awareness, but it goes far beyond that.

More than just meditating, mindfulness is a proven set of practices to achieve engagement, performance, and wellbeing at work. Mindfulness is an ancient practice for modern times that can have a huge positive impact on your entire organisation’s success.

  • Mindful working means having increased focus and awareness and the ability to better pay attention to the task at hand.
  • Mindfulness in the workplace increases the effectiveness of completing tasks, decreases errors, improves problem-solving and enhances creativity.
  • Mindfulness can reduce stress, anxiety and conflict, while increasing resilience, communication and emotional intelligence.
  • Mindful workplaces are environments where people more naturally collaborate, connect and engage with each other, providing support and consideration to their peers.

Our mindfulness-based workplace courses are science-based, interactive and engaging, and can kickstart your organisation’s mindfulness journey.

Team Culture Journeys

To truly develop a successful and enabled workplace culture takes time. Most culture transformations are a journey not a one-stop ‘workshop’.
This is why at MiND.U we focus on developing culture and leadership journeys.
Change may be inspired by one workshop but that inspiration is rarely enough to actually make the change happen. At MiND.u we focus on creating a development journey that works with you and are there walking the path with you to help you get the results you desire.

The Wellbeing Deck Workshop

Let’s stop treating wellbeing as a noun.

Wellbeing should be a verb. Let’s prioritise your people noticing, reflecting and taking actions that shift them from languishing to flourishing. In this interactive workshop, participants will reflect on and define what they feel are the conditions they need to thrive. Wellbeing becomes more powerful when it’s individually created and owned. The ‘Wellbeing Deck’ tool will facilitate this process. Various discussions and sharing activities promote awareness of how to create wellbeing as a team and support everyone in a way that works for them.

WorkingMind – for anchoring mindfulness into working life

The workplace can be a minefield of distractions, demands and expectations that can stress us out, overwhelm us and undermine our ability to focus, perform and be creative. On the flip side, cultivating attention, presence, resilience and open communication at work leads to greater satisfaction, engagement and collaboration. Learn to strengthen your ability to manage distractions and remain focused, reduce errors, improve the quality of your work and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

This training was specifically designed to help participants understand, practice and anchor mindfulness in their working lives. It was developed through a research project exploring the integration of mindfulness into work and leadership.

TeamMind (an Awaris developed programme delivered by Lotty Roberts of MiND.U)

Develop the full potential of hybrid teams.

As a delivery partner for Awaris, Lotty Roberts of MiND.U can deliver the ‘TeamMind’ programme. Hybrid and virtual teams are here to stay, but bring collaboration challenges that many teams still struggle with. That’s largely because virtual and hybrid teams face issues around engagement, wellbeing and collaboration. Lack of human connection, siloing, information overload and constant stress are dampening creativity and engagement.

Change the way your teams collaborate!
During this program developed by Awaris, teams learn the six proven key habits for successful hybrid collaboration, based on the latest research and meta-analysis. Participants will also develop an individual mindfulness practice to anchor new team habits and develop greater wellbeing, higher collective intelligence and more innovative power as a team.

Change in the workplace

At MiND.U we help you turn your vision for change into a reality. Change in the workplace is at an all-time high, yet it often remains a challenge to navigate. Change is a slippery sucker because you don’t have control of all the moving parts. However, that doesn’t negate being intentional about what you’re trying to achieve through change, as well as developing agility to stay the – sometimes bumpy – course.

Emotions in the workplace

Understand your people, connect your teams and evolve your culture, using the power of emotions. A focus on how people feel at work is often the missing link in organisational culture. Traditionally the focus has been on how people think and behave, which is important but it’s only one side of the ‘culture coin’.
